Kinetic and Isotherm Studies of Ni2+ and Pb2+ Adsorption from Synthetic Wastewater Using Eucalyptus camdulensis—Derived Biochar

نویسندگان

چکیده

The production of biosorbents by waste biomass has attracted considerable attention due to the low cost and abundance raw materials. Here biochar produced from Eucalyptus camdulensis sawdust (EU-biochar) via pyrolysis at 600 °C was used as a potential biosorbent for Ni2+ Pb2+ metal ions wastewater. Characterization experiments indicated formation C- O-bearing functional groups on EU-biochar surface, while shifts changes in shape C–H bands suggested adsorption onto interacting with surface carboxylic groups. adsorbed more quickly than Ni2+, indicating faster stronger interaction compared Ni2+. As initial concentrations both increased, percentage removal decreased, whereas increasing dose improved but impaired capacity Pb2+. could only be without affecting pH solutions. sorption efficiency mechanism were further explored using non-linear linear forms kinetic isotherm models.
